Civic Force

Civic Force is a disaster-focused nonprofit organization, creating a network with the public and business sectors and civil society in order to deliver emergency assistance effectively. For the March 2011 Earthquakes in Japan, Civic Force conducted emergency relief and disaster recovery activities in collaboration with approximately 600 companies, 40 nonprofit organizations and central and local governments

Core Activities

  • Providing emergency relief and recovery assistance: Civic Force offers swift and effective emergency aids for affected people in disaster-hit areas and commits to recovery of such areas in collaboration with the public and business sectors
  • Preparing for natural disasters: Civic Force develops plans to mitigate disaster risks and implements them, coordinating and cooperating with governments, companies and other civil society organizations
  • Enhancing region-wide mutual relationships for disaster management: Civic Force supports establishing a cooperation mechanism to provide assistance mutually for disasters in the Asia Pacific region
