【2023 Turkey Earthquake Emergency Assistance】 A-PAD Distributes 110 Emergency Tents in Adiyaman
More than 40,000 lives have been lost to the deadly earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
A-PAD partnered with local organization GEA to conduct search and rescue operations. As a member of ARROWS, A-PAD began emergency relief item distribution on February 11.
Evacuation centers are at their maximum capacity and many survivors are sleeping on the street or in cars. Hospitals were also damaged and patients are being treated outside.
A-PAD procured 110 emergency tents and donated them to a hospital in Adiyaman, Turkey. The tents will then be distributed to other hospitals in need and used to store medical supplies.
The tents were provided by two Taiwanees companies and donations from our supporters.
On February 15, ARROWS met with Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and learned of the need for tents. The team then installed 50 tents outside Adiyaman for emergency use.
Thank you for your continuous support.
