【2023 Turkey Earthquake Emergency Assistance】 With Taiwanese Companies, A-PAD Delivers 110 Tents
Working with two Taiwanese companies and a partner organization, Peace Winds Japan, A-PAD procured 110 tents for the earthquake emergency assistance in Turkey. The tents are en route to the affected areas.
As of February 14, more than 35,000 people have been reported dead in both Turkey and Syria. Many survivors lost their homes and there is not enough space at evacuation centers. Some are staying in cars to avoid the cold weather. Hospitals were destroyed and medical care is being provided outside. With a shortage of resources, medical providers cannot treat all the injured and some are dying without receiving proper care.
A-PAD continues search and rescue operations and relief item distributions. Emergency tents have been procured with the help of two Taiwanese companies and donations from our generous supporters.
Eight people can fit into the tent pictured above. The A-PAD team will be delivering them in the coming days.
