【A-PAD Sri-Lanka】A-PAD Facilitates Dental Health Clinic through Public-Private Partnership in Balangoda
2025.06.03
On May 15, 2025, A-PAD organized a one-day dental health awareness and check-up program at R/Balangoda Kahatapitiya Hapugahakumbura School in Balangoda, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka. The school, which serves 85 students from predominantly low-income families, had identified oral health as a key concern.
The session, conducted in coordination with the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Office Balangoda and approved by the Balangoda Zonal Education Office, included oral hygiene education and check-ups for 85 students and 21 teachers. To broaden the program’s impact, A-PAD engaged private sector partners, receiving logistical and material support from TNR Enterprises Balangoda and the Hanwella Rajasingha Centennial Lions Club.
Initiatives like this are vital for promoting early detection, prevention, and healthy habits in underserved communities. This program demonstrates the value of public-private partnerships in delivering sustainable, community-based health solutions.
Facilitated by the A-PAD platform in the Sabaragamuwa Province, this event exemplifies how multi-stakeholder collaboration can deliver impactful solutions to the community. With A-PAD’s coordination, public institutions and private organizations were able to combine resources, knowledge, and community trust to promote better oral health and the long-term well-being of schoolchildren.
