In areas vulnerable to natural disasters, economically vulnerable populations are at a greater disadvantage for recovery. In Uva Province, located on the eastern side of Sri Lanka’s Central Range, A-PAD hosted a DRR workshop targeting local residents who earn their livelihoods through daily labor. The workshop focused on disaster knowledge, learning about local characteristics, and how to better protect themselves from the impact of disasters.
