【Nepal】 Flash Floods – Gathering Information

On August 26, 2026, flash floods struck Rasuwa district in the mountainous region of Nepal, bordering China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, causing widespread flooding. According to local media, at least 157 people have died, and approximately 400 people from 25 countries, including foreign tourists, are missing.
The Japanese Embassy in Nepal has stated that it has lost contact with five Japanese nationals believed to have been on a tour, and has requested the Nepalese government to conduct a search and rescue operation. In the Tibet Autonomous Region, bordering Nepal, three people have died and 265 are reported missing due to mudslides.
A-PAD is working with Nepalese organizations to gather information on the extent of the damage.
