【A-PAD Bangladesh】 A-PAD Hosts International Symposium

On November 7, A-PAD Bangladesh hosted an international symposium titled “Supporting Improvised Communities in Emergency Management Using Diversity and Inclusion”.
The symposium was attended by Ambassador Kiminori Iwama along with Mr. Saber Hossain Chowdhury, government officials, and representatives from other A-PAD countries. The Ambassador reiterated the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration across Asia and the Pacific region. The symposium also included a panel discussion, introductions of A-PAD projects from each country, and a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony with new partner organizations.
The symposium was featured in a local newspaper, NEW AGE Bangladesh
On November 8, A-PAD staff held a training session to share lessons learned from past disasters, disaster preparedness, and A-PAD’s action plan.
The team also visited a project site established in 2018, Habiganj Coordination Center in Sylhet District in northeast Bangladesh.
These activities were funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan NGO Cooperation Grant Aid.
