On October 29, 2022, Typhoon Nalgae made landfall in Mindanao Island and floods and landslides killed over 48 people. According to the local government, heavy rains caused a sudden increase in water level and many residents were unable to flee in time. It is reported that remote mountainous areas have been buried in mud and rescue operations are on-going.

A-PAD Philippines is working with a regional platform in Mindanao, partner organizations, and local volunteers to gather information on damages and needs. The team is on standby to dispatch an emergency team as needs arise.
