A-PAD local staff in Taiwan is continuing to assess the needs of the affected area. A detailed report will be filed once the nature of the required emergency assistance has been determined.

In view of the decision by Taiwanese authorities to keep foreign rescue teams out of the affected areas as well as reports from staff on the ground indicating that local rescue teams are concentrating their work in a small area, APAD has decided to forego sending search and rescue teams from Japan, and to request local staff to assess the needs instead.
