Chairman, Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (1998-Present)Prof. Dr. Quamruzzaman is a founder and chairman of Dhaka Community Hospital Trust and also serves as a chairman of Bangladesh Disaster Preparedness Center. He is a member of National Steering Committee for Arsenic of Bangladesh, Association of Pediatric Surgeon of Bangladesh, British Association of Pediatric Surgeons, and British Association of Pediatric Endoscopic Surgeons.
Core Activities
- A-PAD Bangladesh was established in 2014 by the Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD), Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCH Trust) and Community Initiative Society (CIS). A-PAD Bangladesh aims to develop a sustainable disaster management group inclusive of all people and foster active community participation. Since inception, A-PAD Bangladesh has organized and conducted workshops, seminars, and symposiums in addition to running a Disaster Risk and Response training program and providing emergency health responses during domestic and overseas disasters.
- A-PAD Bangladesh organized a symposium on the Sendai Spring Campaign and a seminar on global health. A-PAD Bangladesh successfully responded to the 2017 flood disaster in Bangladesh, 2015 earthquake in Nepal, and is presently responding to the Rohingya humanitarian crisis. CIS, in collaboration with A-PAD Bangladesh and A-PAD Management Office, is establishing National Platform (NPF) with active stakeholder participation.
