The project, which began in February 2025, is titled “Building Disaster Resilience in Disaster-Prone Tourism Village Communities by Promoting Multi-sectoral Collaboration.” It aims to create sustainable and disaster-resilient tourist destinations in three provinces: Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara.

Key Topics Covered:

  • Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CCA) Forums: Following the first quarter’s focus on strengthening village-level forums, A-PAD Indonesia conducted BCP training for DRR-CCA forums.
  • Training on Universal Design and Disability Inclusion: Expanding on the concept of comprehensive disaster preparedness from the first quarter, this training on disability inclusion strengthened participants’ ability to create action plans to ensure no one is left behind during a disaster.
  • Circular Economy for Resilient Tourism Villages: As part of efforts to improve resilience for sustainable tourism, this training focused on practical strategies for innovation and resource efficiency related to tourism waste. Participants explored solutions based on circular economy principles, transforming waste into valuable resources to reduce risks and boost the local economy.
  • Community-Based Early Warning & Early Action (EWEA): As part of efforts to strengthen local response capabilities, A-PAD Indonesia and the local Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) introduced a community-based EWEA system during the second quarter. This system establishes a community-led immediate response framework for before a disaster occurs.
