【A-PAD】Participates in the 30th Anniversary Ceremony of the Taiwan National Fire Agency

On June 20, 2025, the Taiwan National Fire Agency (NFA) held a ceremony in Nantou County to commemorate its 30th anniversary. The ceremony highlighted 30 years of the agency’s contributions to firefighting, emergency response, and disaster managementn. An opening ceremony for the NFA training center, the largest in Asia and third largest in the world, was also held, marking a major milestone in enhancing regional firefighting and disaster management capabilities.
Also in attendance were Kaori Neki, Executive Director of Civic Force and the Asia Pacific Alliance (A-PAD) Management Office, Firzan Hashim, Representative of A-PAD Sri Lanka and A-PAD’s Chief Operating Officer, and Huang Chun-yuan, Team Leader of the A-PAD Search and Rescue Team. The ceremony, which brought together various stakeholders, further strengthened the cooperative relationship between Taiwan, Japan, and other regional partners.
In 2024, A-PAD and the NFA conducted a joint Indo-Pacific Rapid Water and Rope Rescue Training Program in Taiwan. This provided an opportunity for rescue personnel from various regions, including A-PAD Sri Lanka’s search and rescue team, to learn advanced rescue techniques and practical preparedness for cross-border emergency response.
