In addition to the capital city of Colombo, A-PAD Sri Lanka supports disadvantaged communities vulnerable to natural disasters in the Northern, Eastern,  Uva, and Southern provinces.

In early February, A-PAD staff visited schools in the Eastern Province (Sumedangara Maha Vidyalaya, Sharmaraja Maha Vidyalaya) to monitor project progress and distribute school supplies to 5th graders.

In Sri Lanka, many 5th graders take examinations for scholarships to move on to a better school. However, some students are unable to purchase test preparation books for financial reasons. A-PAD hopes to contribute in filling the education gap for students who wish to further their education.

Senior Vice President, Dr. Salgado highlighted the importance of risk management and swift decision-making from senior leadership. In order to rebuild the business in the same location, Lion Brewery simultaneously re-examined the movement of rivers in the area, installed water stop plates, cleaned up the office and factory grounds, and revised their business continuity plan (BCP).
