On November 17, 2023,  an M6.8 earthquake struck the Soksargen region of central Mindanao in the Philippines, killing nine people and more than 3,200 houses were damaged. Many residents were forced to evacuate.

On December 10, 2023, A-PAD Philippines and the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry distributed shelter materials to communities affected by the earthquake. Volunteers who took training from a regional platform assisted the distribution. Local authorities also distributed food items and sanitation kits. USAID provided waterproof tarps for shelters.
