On November 3, 2023, a deadly earthquake struck northwest Nepal leaving at least 157 people dead and many injured. According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of 18 kilometers. 

The mountainous region located 300 kilometers from the nation’s capital, Kathmandu, had many houses built with bricks. Search and rescue operations are ongoing to find survivors buried under the rubble. 

A-PAD is gathering information on the extent of the damages and planning for a possible emergency response.
