A-PAD Bangladesh, in partnership with a local partner organization, provided emergency assistance in flash flood-affected areas in June.

Living with her two children and disabled husband, Ms. Kulsum heard a loud notice and noticed flood water coming into the house at night. In a panic, she swam with her children and they were rescued by a rescue team. Her daughter got sick from unsafe water while staying at an evacuation center and she was unable to get enough nutrients. That’s when A-PAD Bangladesh delivered medical supplies and food items. “Our livestock and entire possessions got swept away and we lost everything. My family is hungry and my five-month daughter could not breathe well and drink breast milk. However, we were able to receive medical assistance and food from the A-PAD team. We are very grateful for such generosity from CIS and A-PAD.”

Residents were not well prepared for this sudden flood, but A-PAD Bangladesh was able to provide necessary services by directly visiting them.
