Bali is a popular tourist destination and enjoyed by many tourists every year. Safety for tourists during disasters, preparedness, and response measures must be well planned out by local governments and the tourism sector. A-PAD Indonesia is currently working on disaster risk reduction in tourism and A-PAD is promoting a disaster-preparedness certification program for hotels in Nusa Dua neighborhood in Bali. By the end of August 2022, A-PAD hopes to have all 24 tourism facilities in the neighborhood certified. A-PAD is also planning on expanding the certification program among new facilities being built in special economic zones.
