Participating in the international symposium held by A-PAD’s Liaison Office in Nepal, Ms. Kaori Neki, Director and Head of A-PAD Management Office, and Mr. Firzan Hasim, Director and COO of A-PAD, dispatched to Nepal. They also visited the Embassy of Japan and the Social Welfare Council.

At the embassy, A-PAD met with Japanese government officials and discussed A-PAD’s activities in Nepal and establishment of the multi-sectoral National Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) platform.

At the Social Welfare Council, A-PAD met with Mr. Manoj Bhatta, Member Secretary. Mr Bhata addressed the importance of A-PAD’s work and requested A-PAD to introduce projects that align with the government’s strategy.

At the meeting with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), Dr. Anil Pokharel, CEO of NDRMMA, discussed his expectations for A-PAD’s work. Dr Pokharel encouraged private sector engagement in DRR and strengthening the existing platform.

The A-PAD delegation also met with Mr. Matrika Yadav, Under Secretary and Chief of the National Emergency Operations Centre. Mr. Yadav thanked A-PAD for its assistance and highlighted the usefulness of the donated equipment.
