【A-PAD Sri Lanka】 Emergency Assistance for Monsoon Disasters

Northeast monsoon season is approaching in Sri Lanka and emergency alerts for strong winds, large waves, landslides, and floods were issued at the end of October. On November 9, heavy rain falling at over 150 mm per hour caused deadly damages and as of November 9, six people are dead and 7,167 people (1,836 households) have been affected.
A-PAD’s headquarters in Japan is working with A-PAD Sri Lanka, local governments, and other partner organizations to prepare for emergency assistance including distributions of food items and hygiene kits.
