【Kumamoto Earthquake】 Assessing the needs of earthquake victims

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck the city of Kumamoto on the island of Kyushu at 21:26 (Japan Time) on April 14 and caused nine dead and over a thousand injured. In response to the earthquake, Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD) immediately dispatched the A-PAD and Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) joint search and rescue team to the affected area, and the team has been gathering information and assessing the needs of the areas struck by the earthquake.
