On November 25, 2025, A-PAD leadership met with key high-level officials in Colombo to reinforce international cooperation in disaster management. The meeting included Sri Lanka Secretary of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha and H.E. Akio Isomata, Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka.

A-PAD was represented by Firzan Hashim (COO and A-PAD Sri Lanka Representative), Nobutaka Miyahara (Senior Advisor), and Kaori Neki (Director, Head of Management Office). During the session, Thuyacontha and Isomata commended A-PAD’s track record of disaster response. Both officials offered congratulatory remarks for the International Symposium hosted by A-PAD Sri Lanka later that day, signaling support for the organization’s initiatives. Thuyacontha spoke about the importance of public-private partnerships in disaster response in Sri Lanka and expressed his expectations for A-PAD’s continued efforts. 

A-PAD will continue to work with partners in the Asia-Pacific region, including governments, local governments, businesses, and NGOs, to save more lives in less time during disasters.
