【A-PAD Indonesia】Gathering Information – Deadly Cyclone Hits Region

2025.12.01

Since November 21, 2025, Cyclone Senyar has caused devastating floods and landslides across Indonesia, primarily impacting the provinces of North Sumatra, Aceh, and West Sumatra. According to the Indonesian government, more than 500 people have been confirmed dead, more than 500 missing, and over 2,500 injured (as of December 1, 2025).

Several major roads remain cut off by landslides, fallen trees, and collapsed bridges, and many rural and highland areas remain isolated and unable to receive aid. The continued heavy rains also pose a risk of secondary disasters including landslides, hindering relief and rescue efforts in many areas.

A-PAD Indonesia is currently assessing the extent of the damage and preparing to mobilize assistance to affected areas as soon as specific needs are identified.
