Having identified a high-risk area in Kahangama, A-PAD SL, together with the Foundation of Goodness, conducted a training and awareness program on disaster management and preparedness for selected communities.

This partnership event brought together the expertise and resources of both organizations to deliver comprehensive disaster management training to the community leaders and civilians in Kahangama. By empowering the residents with important skills and knowledge, it is anticipated that they will be better prepared to face and mitigate the impact of future disasters.

The training saw 41 participants representing various sectors including government officers, members of the rural disaster management committee, the business community, and members of women’s societies in Kahangama and Wellambarawaththa GN divisions. Under the technical expertise of A-PAD SL and the Foundation of Goodness, the training included theoretical and practical training sessions as well as an assessment test.
