【A-PAD Philippines】 Emergency Response Report Now Available

2024.10.10

Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon that hit the Philippines in July 2024 caused heavy rains, floods, and landslides leaving 45 people dead or missing and more than 4.8 million people affected. In the capital Manila, a state of emergency was declared after a river overflowed and residential areas were submerged in water. In addition, several people died and many people were forced to evacuate on the southern island of Mindanao.

A-PAD Philippines has continued its emergency relief activities and, on August 24, distributed hygiene kits to 300 households (1,500 people) in Pampanga, one of the hardest hit areas.  A-PAD collaborated with Assumption University in the Philippines and the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Secretariat of San Fernando City.
