A-PAD Indonesia Q3 Newsletter 2025.11
After laying the groundwork in the first half of the year, this term focused on implementing activities including first aid and evacuation drills, community-led early warning systems, and circular tourism initiatives.
A series of capacity-building activities were conducted in Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara to strengthen community resilience in both environmental sustainability and disaster preparedness.
Training sessions in Golo Mori focused on the practical application of the circular economy, with an emphasis on building resilient tourism villages. Participants furthered their second-quarter learning by exploring community-led waste management strategies designed to enhance both environmental protection and local economic resilience.
Communities in Bali and West Nusa Tenggara also advanced the rollout of Early Warning and Early Action (EWEA) systems. Through scenario-based exercises and communication mapping, participants clarified alert thresholds and strengthened rapid response mechanisms for disaster warnings.
Additionally, hands-on first aid and evacuation drills were conducted across communities in all three provinces, improving operational readiness and emergency response skills. These efforts culminated in large-scale disaster simulation exercises, bringing together local residents, government authorities, and tourism stakeholders to practice real-time coordination and decision-making during simulated emergency scenarios.
