A handover ceremony for medical radiology equipment was held on May 15 at Dhaka Community Hospital in Bangladesh attended by Mr. Yasushi Hosaka, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kiminori Iwama, Ambassador to Bangladesh, and Dr. Quazi Quamruzzaman, A-PAD’s Chairman. 

 

Donated equipment included a dental X-ray machine and digital X-ray machine. This support was made possible by Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGHSP).

Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Hosaka remarked, “This support is in line with Japan’s goal for universal health coverage (UHC).” He also praised the activities of A-PAD Bangladesh and the local NGO Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCHT), “I would like to continue supporting them in the future.”

Dr. Zaman expressed his gratitude to the Japanese government and promised to make good use of the devices for smooth medical activities. In addition, Golam Mostofa, CIS Secretary General and A-PAD staff member, introduced A-PAD’s past activities while introducing a video of A-PAD’s 10th anniversary.
