In response to Cyclone Mocha that struck Bangladesh’s coastal areas on May 14, A-PAD Bangladesh’s local partner, Community Initiative Society (CIS), carried out relief activities in Cox’s Bazar.

CIS has so far distributed the following items in Teknaf:

• – Food items (100 households)
• – Non food essential items (100 households)
• – Shelter materials (100 households)
• – Fishing nets (50 households)
• – Oral rehydration solutions (2,500 people)
• – Water purification tablets (2,500 people)

The distribution was supported by the following partners:

• – DCHT (Transportation of oral rehydration solutions and water purification tablets)
• – DHEM Foundation (Needs assessment, transportation support)
• – Seven One Limited (Shelter construction)
