APADM delegation visits Brunei in March

The APADM Management Office sent a delegation to Brunei from March 9 to 13 with the purpose of expanding the Alliance project within the ASEAN and discovering potential new members.
The delegation first met with His Excellency Hiroyuki Sato, Japanese ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, and received advice on the current local situation and how to move forward with the formation of the National Platform in Brunei. Next, they met with Mr. Shazali Sulaiman, Executive Director of the Brunei International Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss the private sector’s social contributions and its collaboration with the Asian Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Dato Majid, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs in Brunei, also expressed interest in the Alliance and said that it is an important organization to have in the ASEAN.
Lastly, the MO delegation visited the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation which work on social welfare activities, to have a? better understanding of each other’s organizations. The Foundation showed interest in joining the Alliance and participating in the planned General Meeting of APADM to be held in May. Until then the Foundation representatives agreed to come up with a concrete plan for cooperation with APADM.
