A-PAD’s partner organization, GEA’s international team deployed a team since June 30, 2026 to La Guaira State, a region affected by the recent earthquakes.

According to official Venezuelan government figures, as of July 9, 2026, the death toll has reached 3,889 and the number of injured has reached 16,740. Search and rescue operations have so far rescued 6,462 people alive. Meanwhile, efforts to recover bodies from under the rubble continue, and the death toll is rising daily.

856 buildings were damaged – 190 of which completely collapsed, leaving 17,900 people without homes. Currently, 16,891 people are living in temporary camps at 89 locations.

On the ground, more than 63,000 personnel, including police officers, volunteers, and 3,931 rescue workers from overseas, are engaged in emergency relief operations. Furthermore, 1,142 aftershocks have been recorded so far and a high level of vigilance must be maintained.

A-PAD is currently preparing to procure and provide pandemic kits (hygiene products including masks, wet wipes, toothbrushes, and toilet paper) through GEA.

However, two weeks after the disaster, soaring prices and shortages of supplies have become serious problems in the affected areas, and as much support as possible is needed.
