On April 11, 2022, A-PAD’s liaison office in Nepal signed a five-year General Agreement with the Social Welfare Council (SWC), which coordinates NGO activities in Nepal.

SWC Secretary Mr. Manoj Bhatta suggested working on disaster risk reduction and management domestically and internationally. He also promoted collaboration with local governments where the Human Development Index scores are low. SWC’s Planning Director, Mr. Pralhad Panta, recommended continued discussions with SWC for project planning.

A-PAD’s liaison office thanked the SWC team and affirmed its commitment to collaborating with stakeholders for next phase project planning and working toward the government’s priority areas including Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the Sendai Framework.

The signing ceremony marked an important milestone for A-PAD to continue working in disaster risk reduction.
