APAD-SL facilitated a platform meeting on the 28^th of April 2016 at the CHA office in Colombo. The meeting saw the gathering of the members of the platform who were updated on the progress of the provincial platforms and other APAD initiatives.

An introduction to the Disaster Emergency Warning Network (DEWN) was conducted by Mr. Charitha Ratwatte Jr, Head of Group Sustainability at Dialog Axiata PLC.  This secure system will issue customized alerts to selected recipients instantaneously through the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) of the Disaster Management Centre. A-PAD SL will continue to update and create awareness in order to minimize disaster impact among its membership and community.
