【A-PAD Philippines】A-PAD Delivers Cash Cheques and Food Packages
Two weeks have passed since Typhoon Goni devastated the Philippines. Please take a moment to read about our on-going assistance activities in the affected areas.
Cash Cheques Distributed to 299 Households
On November 18, A-PAD Philippines and Entrepreneur’s Organization Philippines donated cash cheques of 500 pesos (USD10) each to 299 households living in Barangay West Carisac, Libon, Albay. Entrepreneur’s Organization Philippines is comprised of over 100 venture capital companies.
River banks were destroyed by heavy rains in West Carisac. Roads, agricultural lands, and houses were flooded and many residents evacuated without taking any belongings. Gift cheques will be used by the affected families to purchase food, hygiene items, and household supplies at local markets.
Distribution of Food Packs with Chamber of Commerce and Industry
On November 21, A-PAD Philippines, Albayanihan, and the Alby Chamber of Commerce and Industry delivered food packs to 231 households in Sitio Nahulugan. Sitio Nahulugan is a coastal community in Barangay Naga and was one of the areas affected by storm surges. More than 30 houses and fishing boats were swept away by the storms. A-Philippines’s Executive Director, Elmer Lorenzana visited the affected areas and joined the food pack distribution.
